Since moving I haven't really shown my great readers what our new home looks like. When we first got here we literally had to completely repaint the entire inside of the house, since the previous occupant had trashed it from floor to ceiling. They had let their children not only color on every wall and door with markers, crayons, and chalk, but also poop! I cleaned and painted, cleaned and painted, and then cleaned some more. But now our house is a lovely home.
My Kitchen! One of my very favorite rooms of my home I have it done in a buttery pale yellow with cobalt blue and white accents. I decorated it with country cooking implements. I was going for a farm house kitchen look! The blue cupboard curtains and matching valances I sewed from a huge tablecloth I got from the thrift store for $3.00. I bought it for my table but when I got it home I unfolded it and found a hole right in the middle (always unfold linens and check them at yard sales and thrift stores) but I liked the fabric so much that I decided to use it for the project in the kitchen. It worked great and was much cheaper than buying the fabric at a fabric store. You can see my brand new kitchen aid mixer below. A wonderfully overwhelming gift from my mother for my birthday. It has literally changed my cooking life!

Here my knifes are hanging up which frees my limited counter space and keeps them out of children's reach. all the jars above the stove are loose leaf teas.
the snack cupboard that holds all our cereals, breads, snacks and peanut butter.
The chalkboard wall in my kitchen is great for the kids to draw on (yes those chalkboard paints really work) and for writing down things I need to buy.
The pantry shelf, or one of them actually. As you can see I use half gallon mason jars for storage.
My wood cook stove in the living room with all my assorted cast iron hanging ready for use.
The rest of the living room, today was laundry day and the dogs were wrestling.
My computer desk where I write to you!
The computer room windows. I sewed the curtains.
More computer room plus my sewing machine
Youngest daughters room, I sewed those balloon curtains from an old vintage sheet I got from my hubbies grandma and added the ribbons for ties. An almost free project that was super easy.
Her super princess bed! The mosquito net came from a yard sale for $2.oo the flower garlend was from the dollar store and the bed frame I got at a yard sale for $5.00. I bought the blanket set from walmart for 30.00. Its the only new thing in her room.
